Former politician and bestselling author Jeffrey Archer has died aged 86, his publisher Harper Collins said in a statement. Archer, who had a successful career as a novelist alongside politics, was made a life peer in 1992 and released from prison early in 2003 after serving four years for perjury and perverting the course of justice.
