Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
Blood. Lust.

But when she visits the original's star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.

Fan & Critic Buzz
The movie "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma" is receiving generally positive reviews for its unique approach, which combines horror elements with a surrealistic meta-delving storyline. Some reviewers praise the film's ability to balance gore and ridiculousness while still managing to be queer and hilarious. A few specific comments highlight the film's offbeat qualities, such as referencing pop culture in a way that feels both personal and sweet, and Gillian Anderson delivering an energetic and charismatic performance. However, not everyone is on board with the movie, with some reviewers expressing disappointment or confusion by references to camp slasher films.
Viewer Reviews (TMDb)
"Kris" (Hannah Einbinder) has managed to convince some investors to consider funding her attempt to resurrect a dated horror fanchise set at a remote holiday camp. To that end, she has tracked down the woman who was the original damsel in distress in the series's very first outin…
CinemaSerf · 6/10This did not hit the way I thought it would, and I am pleasantly surprised. If you are not into some rather "out-there" stuff this might not be for you, because this is not your average slasher with a fun twist. This is a deeply strange, surrealistic meta-delving 'deconstruction'…
Sierbahnn · 6/10# Analysis of Jane Schoenbrun’s “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” (2026) ### “I saw ya and wanted to scare ya. It’s only fair, right? You already seen me.” It is no secret that Jane Schoenbrun (they/them) references pop culture throughout their filmography. The Pink Opaque o…
Yasmin J. Lee · 10/10Horny, bloody, queer, hilarious, and completely unafraid to get weird. I loved how it takes the sleazy summer camp slasher and turns it into something surprisingly personal and sweet without losing all the gore and ridiculousness. Gillian Anderson is having an absolute blast, and…

Fun fact: "Little Death" in French, la petite mort, is a euphemism for an orgasm. Sounds like that has something to do with the plot of this. Does anyone else get that sense?
